Sierra Cantabria Coleccion Privada Red wine
Sierra Cantabria Private Collection is made through the combination of traditional method -with destemming- and carbonic maceration -fermentation with whole bunches-. Malolactic fermentation in barrels. Aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels (50%) and American oak (50%).
Beautiful dark cherry colour, with garnet rim and purple reflections. Bright, with abundant and robust tinted tears. A powerful ripe red fruit stands out for the beginning, interspersed with floral (violets) and lactic aromas (strawberry and cream gummies). Little by little, the aromas typical of its time in oak appear, toasted, smoked and pleasant spices. It has a fleshy, dense and tasty entry on the palate, with a mid-palate full of fruit and marked toasts. Powerful acidity that augurs a long life. Direct and defined tannins. Very long and very persistent finish. A great red wine with an excellent quality-pleasure-price ratio.
Big game and feather game, white and gelatinous red meats, roasts and stews. Rack of lamb with potato gratin. Pork leg. Cured cheeses.
96 points Peñín.
