Quiñón de Valmira Red wine
Quiñón de Valmira is the new wine that Álvaro Palacios makes in his family winery in Alfaro (La Rioja), Palacios Remondo. After numerous harvests with many tests and trials, the first vintage of Valmira, 2014, is marketed.
Very limited production: Only 1,000 bottles.
100% Grenache from a vineyard of approximately 30 years old and only 3 hectares in the area of Quinón de Valmira, in the municipality of Alfaro. Calcareous, clay-ferrous soils with fine sediments.
Winemaking is carried out with destemming, squeezing. Alcoholic fermentation in a wooden vat with sizzling and maceration for 49 days. After the malolactic, the wine entered barrels.
Aroma of crunchy fruits such as currants, orange, licorice, tea and slight hints of menthol. On the palate it is very fresh, with a great texture, a lot of fruit. Scented, citrusy and fresh finish with hints of cherries, strawberries and currants.
