Viña El Pison Organic wine

Artadi Viña El Pisón is an aged red wine from La Rioja Alavesa and produced by Bodegas Artadi, Viñedos Lacalle and Laorden.

It is a parcel wine, since all the Tempranillo grape comes from a single vineyard of the same name as the wine; located in Laguardia (Álava), at an altitude of 480 meters above sea level and on deep clay-calcareous soils. Ecological viticulture, respecting the environment and the earth, without the use of non-herbicidal pesticides.

The Pisón is vinified in open wooden tanks with cold maceration (24 to 48 hours); fermentation with 2 steps daily and small pump-overs for 10 to 12 days (depending on the vintage). It is malolactic in French oak barrels and then aged for about 12 months, depending on the characteristics of the year. Limited production wine (between 5,000 and 7,000 bottles a year), to store or consume now.

Very intense dark cherry color. Dense tear and elegant and complex nose. Great concentration of aromas of ripe fruit with a great wealth of nuances. Powerful toasted sensations. Mineral touches and something liquorous. In the mouth it is round, fatty and elegant. A wine that fills the mouth, the fruity flavors stand out with a mineral and spicy character. Ripe, creamy and noble tannins. With a fine toasted aftertaste. Very long and persistent finish.
