Viña Ardanza 37.5 cl. Red wine
Viña Ardanza, a stunning red wine from Bodegas La Rioja Alta, showcases the elegance of the 2017 vintage in a 375ml bottle. This Reserva classification wine boasts an alcohol content of 13.5% and is primarily made from the Garnacha grape variety, selected meticulously through manual harvesting to ensure the utmost quality.
The meticulous winemaking process begins in the vineyard, where grapes are handpicked into boxes, followed by a careful selection of clusters in the field. The Garnacha grapes are harvested later, about 15 days after the initial pick, ensuring optimal ripeness. To maintain integrity, the grapes are transported under refrigeration to the winery. A second selection is made on an optical sorting table, followed by natural alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 27ºC and malolactic fermentation.
Viña Ardanza undergoes an extensive aging process in custom-made American oak barrels—36 months for the Tempranillo and 30 months for the Garnacha. This careful aging includes five traditional racking processes, done manually to separate sediments gently and avoid aggressive filtration. The wine exhibits a vibrant cherry red color, clear and shiny, with a medium body and a pink-hued rim.
On the nose, this wine captivates with its expressive aroma, revealing a complex bouquet of spicy notes, including coffee, chocolate, vanilla, clove, and fine woods, all balanced with a backdrop of ripe black fruits. The palate is characterized by a well-structured balance and lively freshness that encourages you to take another sip, accompanied by refined tannins that fill the mouth with pleasant sensations. The long aftertaste highlights the wine's elegance, complexity, and aromatic power, enriched in this particular vintage.
Viña Ardanza pairs beautifully with lamb roasts, grilled chops, game meats, fish in sauce, as well as smoked and cured cheeses, making it an exceptional choice for any fine dining experience. Indulge in this exquisite wine that truly embodies the spirit and tradition of Spanish winemaking.
