Solar Viejo Red wine

The 2013 vintage was characterized by an atypical climate. The intense rains and low temperatures were the protagonists of the spring, which led to a delay in the vegetative cycle, causing a ripening inequality between the different vineyards and sub-areas of the denomination. As a result, the latest harvest in the recent history of the Denomination, and one of the shortest in terms of production. The good weather that prevailed during September and October allowed the harvest to be carried out in an elective way, finally achieving an optimal quality in the harvested fruit.

Solar Viejo Reserva is the clear expression of the power and depth that a Rioja wine is capable of providing.

Blend of Tempranillo and Graciano grapes aged for at least 12 months in French and American oak barrels and long rest in the bottle.

Color: bright, intense cherry red color with maroon iridescides.

Aroma: a stopped glass predominates the aromas from its passage through barrel, vanilla, cloves, black pepper, nutmeg, cinnamon, caramel. After slight agitation appear fruity notes such as blackberry, fig, raspberry jam and cocoa aromas.

Mouth: good volume and persistence, with a certain acidity that provides freshness and intense flavors from wood. In aftertaste appear certain balsamic notes that contribute to give it greater complexity.
