Montecillo 150 Aniversario - Edición Limitada Red wine

Montecillo Limited Edition is the result of a very exhaustive selection of the best Tempranillo vineyards from Rioja Alta near the winery, with an average age of 35 years, with goblet formation, rainfed; with poor soils and low production where manual harvesting is done in small boxes from the selected plots.

Barrel ageing each variety separately: 20 months in French oak barrels and mixed barrels -new 40% and semi-new 60%, then the wine is aged in the bottle for at least 8 months.

Intense and bright cherry red colour, with greater colour and colouring intensity, due to both the selection of Tempranillo and the contribution of colour from the Graciano variety.

Intense nose, the richness of its nuances is appreciated: very marked notes of ripe black plum and mineral notes in the first olfaction, perfectly assembled with the notes of compote and ripe fruit, notes of not so sweet woods with a final hint of vanilla on a background of mahogany.

Balanced on the palate with silky and pleasant tannins and notes from the barrel. On the palate it is voluptuous, very glyceric, saply, velvety, with a structured mid-palate and a persistent finish. The acidity is higher than in the classic Crianza of the house due to the low pH of the Graciano that makes up this blend and that helps to finish the mouth long.
