La Val Albariño White wine
La Val Albariño 2023 is a remarkable white wine produced by Bodegas La Val, showcasing the unique characteristics of the Rías Baixas appellation. This wine is a blend of grapes sourced from various estates, each contributing its distinct attributes. It reflects the diversity of soils, including granite from Taboexa that imparts acidity, alluvial and pebbled soils from Arantei and Porto contributing fruitiness, and schist from Vilachán adding a mineral touch.
After careful selection, the grapes are transported to the winery and stored in a refrigerated chamber to preserve their freshness. A 40% skin maceration occurs at 10ºC for 4 hours, enhancing the wine’s complexity. Following this, the grapes undergo gentle pressing, with the finest must chosen for fermentation in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature of 16 to 17ºC. The wine is then racked with its fine lees, where it remains for approximately three months, developing additional depth and character.
With a charming pale yellow color that glimmers with greenish reflections, La Val Albariño offers a clean and bright nose with a strong aromatic intensity. You'll find pronounced primary fruit aromas such as apricot, apple, and pineapple, complemented by fresh herbal notes of bay leaf and fennel, and zesty citrus hints of grapefruit, all resting on a floral and saline background.
On the palate, this wine features a medium structure and a long-lasting finish. It strikes a perfect balance between freshness and fruitiness, with a delightful interplay of citrus and Atlantic herbs. The finish is not only saline but also leaves a gentle bitterness that invites you for another sip.
La Val Albariño 2023 is an exceptional wine, perfect for enjoying on its own or pairing with seafood dishes, salads, and light appetizers. Experience the essence of the Rías Baixas in every glass.
