Finca El Bosque Red wine
ORIGIN OF the GRAPE:
Vineyard: Finca El Bosque, San Vicente de la Sonsierra, La Rioja. Area: 1.4820 hectares. Clay-Calcareous Soil. Year planted: 1973. High-density plantation and in Espaldera (3,086 vines per hectare, 4,574 vines in total). Yield 2010: 24.15 Hls.\/ Ha.
Soil of a loamy-clay-sandy type due to its texture and clay-calcareous due to its composition. Sustained on gravel, loose, deep and with an abundance of boulders on the surface.
Organic fertilizer on a biannual basis. Integrated viticulture, respectful of the environment, in line with the biorhythms of nature. Comprehensive manual harvesting in boxes, with manual selection of bunches in optimal ripening and sanitary conditions in the vineyard and in the winery using a selection belt.
VINIFICATION:
Manual destemming and rigorous grain-by-grain selection. Pre-fermentative cold maceration at 8ºC for 3 days.
FERMENTATION:
Fermented in a French oak vat with a capacity of 8,000 kilos at 28º C. Treaded twice a day for the first 8 days of fermentation and once a day for the remaining 5.
MACERATION:
With skins for 18 days.
MALOLACTIC FERMENTATION:
In new French and Romanian oak barrels.
AGING, STABILIZATION:
Barrel: 18 months new Bordeaux barrels of French and Central European oak. Trasiegos every four months.
