Castillo Ygay Red wine
Castillo Ygay Gran Reserva is made exclusively with the best grapes from La Plana, a 40 ha vineyard planted in 1950, with clay-calcareous soil located at an altitude of 485 m, in the highest area of the Finca Ygay, a 300 ha estate that surrounds the Marqués de Murrieta winery located in the Rioja Alta.
The Tempranillo is aged for 34 months in 225 l American oak barrels and the Mazuelo for 34 months in 225 l French oak barrels. Once the blend has been decided, the wine remains in a concrete tank for 20 months until bottling.
Intense burgundy color with tinted reflections. Bright and with an elegant teardrop, slow falling. Under an intense and concentrated set of aromas from its long aging, with intense toasted and smoky notes, with multiple spices, notes of leather, tobacco and cocoa, a very ripe red fruit appears. Complex and harmonious at the same time. An extraordinary wine. Enveloping entry with the most expressive and fleshy fruit on the nose intermingled with perfectly integrated woods. Perfect balance, with smooth acidity and polished tannins. Very long and very persistent finish. A very, very elegant wine.
Squid hooked squid in its ink with Iberian bacon, baked sea bream with white and red wine reduction, beef tenderloin roasted in black oil and wild deer loin with cranberry and tempranillo sauce, among others
