Bardos Viñedos de Altura Red wine
Vineyard: Extreme vineyards in Soria, between the towns of Alcubilla and Villálvaro, with a great winemaking tradition. Located at an altitude of more than 950 metres, these plots are located at the head of the Duero, very close to the Urbión, a peak that exerts a great influence on the climate of the area. Planted on sandy soils and fine gravel that rest on ferric clays, they are old vines of low production, surrounded by wooded areas full of holm oaks, junipers and oaks.
Harvest: Manual harvest between 29 September and 18 October.
Elaboration: Fermentation and gentle maceration in 15,000 kg vats at 18ºC for two weeks. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
Aging: 12 months in oak containers of different sizes, from 225-litre barrels to bocoyes (600 litres) and large-capacity vats.
Visual: Very bright cherry red with purple notes and a high layer.
Nose: Very fresh nose full of complexity, with fruity notes and spicy touches in the background.
Palate: Very pleasant, with a velvety and ripe tannin. Acidity is integrated with density creating a perfect balance. In the aftertaste, the freshness of the fruit returns.
