Gallinas y Focas Organic wine
Gallinas y Focas is a wine with a high human content as a result of the collaboration of amadip esment and 4kilos Vinícola. amadip.esment is an organization for people with intellectual disabilities and their families to enjoy and improve their quality of life and have the same opportunities as all citizens. The members of amadip.esment actively participate in the entire process of creating the wine, being the main protagonists of this project. In August 2006, the 4Kilos Vinícola project was born in Mallorca by Francesc Grimalt and Sergio Caballero. Francesc Grimalt is a winemaker and former partner and technical director of Bodega Ánima Negra in Mallorca and is known for having recovered the native Callet variety in the Balearic wine scene. Sergio Caballero is a musician, founding partner and co-director of the advanced music and multimedia art festival Sónar, of which he is responsible for its image. The name 4Kilos comes from the initial investment in pesetas of its two partners (i.e. 4 million pesetas). In this way, they wanted to show that the production of a good wine does not depend on a great economic effort, but on an ambition for quality and a passion for the product.
Intense cherry colour with violet reflections. Clean and bright, it features abundant tears. It exhibits a nose of high intensity in which powerful ripe black fruit predominates accompanied by floral aromas and lactic notes that gradually give way to fine toasted, slight spices and roasted sweetness. On the palate it is tasty, fresh, medium-bodied, with good acidity and astringent tannins. Pleasant medium-long finish with toasted and fruity hints in its aftertaste.
Sausages, Stews, Roasts, Beef.
93 points Parker.
